The case is scuffed and scratched and while I've thought briefly about polishing it, I think I prefer that it's well used. It's mine, after all. This isn't someone else's use, this was my own daily music player for years. I think the only thing I'm not prepared to replace is the shell, unless it actually breaks somehow.

Other than that, bring on the iPod of Theseus.

My iPod "restoration" is going well. It's got a brand new, higher capacity battery, and a 64GB CF card for storage. Running Rockbox 4, so it's really easy to manage the contents by dragging files onto it!

I've removed the Bluetooth transmitter for now, I want to pay with a few options and combinations of hardware outside of the actual device for a bit. I have an old iTrip FM transmitter around somewhere that stopped working, and I'm thinking maybe I can get really ambitious and use the accessory connector etc from that and make an external one.

Sounds great as it is though!

Every so often I'll be watching TV and I'll see an old building in some distant European city, and I'll think I recognise it and for a minute I'll be very confused and wonder why the hell my brain thinks it's been there.

Then I'll remember that I've played a lot of Assassin's Creed games.
