I don't know if it's going to be part of the overall project but one thing I keep toying with is instead of cutting up a piece of 1950s propaganda, maybe leaving it as-is but rescoring the whole film.
I used to have a lot of self-doubt about Rainbow Headcleaner, which stared mostly as a joke, but I really liked the results.
Conceptually, it's "what if you took public domain 1950s educational films and cut them up with the free Apple loops library in Garageband?" and see, it's all legally clear of course, but I used to wonder if I could really consider that this was "my work" because all I really did was edit things, play with effects, tempo ... all sorts of things except (in most cases) actually generate the original noises.
Well all the recent AI bullshit has certainly cured my impostor syndrome in this space, I can tell you.

Every time I get a step closer to actually completing my 20+ year solo album project, I find a new way to delay it.
This time I accidentally recorded a whole new track for it, and now I have to figure out how to restructure the track list and redo all the liner art and maybe I even need to make another track to even things out a bit.
I think the lesson we can all take away from this is don't ever make art, it's a trap.
I decided the Game Boy really wasn't reading games as reliably as I wanted it to, so I desoldered the original cartridge socket and replaced it. It's a bit better, but I don't think it was really worth the effort, heh. Oh well, it kept me busy for an hour or so.
